“As part of the Erasmus+ Project our school received a partnership proposal from Poland with whom we worked together in previous Comenius Project.  Thus the application process which started last year has become absulote and our school has become the partner of Slowing Down – A New Face of European Education.

The project that started on September/1/2018 will carry on until August/31/2020. Coordinator country of the Project is Poland. Partner countries are Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland and Portugal. The cities we are going to visit are Thessaloniki in Greece, Blidene in Latvia, Naples in Italy, Almada in Portugal and Slupsk in Poland. The topic of our project is slowing down. We aim to raise awareness regarding slowing down and improving the quality of life by this means. The project covers aims that may reduce the stress we face both in personal lives and professional lives.  We should control our technology addiction and live the moment we live in not focused on consumption but on production. Yet in this project we research how and in what ways we can do this. For this reason each country has its own theme. Our theme as Turkey is creativity and conventionalism. We aim to put together the idea of slowing down and traditional handcrafting and created the slogans : Slow Down, Enjoy Life – Be good, Be kind, Be respectful, Be creative. Within this theme; marbling, filography, pottery,  tile, toy and instrument crafting, knitting, painting and gardening workshops will be formed. Each of our partners has assignments. They have been asked to make and interview with a learned senior, record it and present at our school with English subtitles. Moreover each partner shall bring flower seeds of their home country to seed them in our “Slow Down Garden” together.  A pantomime show will be presented to our partners. We will sing the “Slow Down” song all together and they will be presented “Atatürk and Republic” presentation. Moreover we will have “Karaoke” and “Just Dance” workshops just for students. After they depart from Turkey we will create a video and an e-magazine. “

We should focus on our own dreams instead of comparing ourselves with the others. We should be just in the moment we live, not in the past or in the future. We should dream, live for ourselves, say “No” when necessary and should definetely know what we want.In order to realize it, we sometimes should spare the time for ourselves to see the sunset, to go for a walk along the seaside, to take a short break and to do the activities we like.”
